MEMBER ADVISORY COMMITTEE
ONLINE FEEDBACK FORM
BENEFITS AND GUIDELINES SUMMARY
Role & Responsibilities of a Member Advisory Committee (MAC) member
Advisor- MAC members serve in an advisory capacity to the Developers, the onsite Resort Management (Hotel Operations) teams, and UVCI (Club Management).
Idea Generation-MAC members provide recommendations for programs, services, amenities, resort enhancements, member services, promotions, newsletter articles, and other on or off-property membership items.
Recap of Experiences– Following each trip or throughout the year, MAC members send a summary of feedback via the MAC landing page link below (new!) or email. Length may vary from a few bullet points to pages of detailed information, at their discretion.
Goodwill Ambassador – MAC members have shown their interest and willingness to contribute to the ongoing efforts to improve their Club. We appreciate the MAC’s loyalty to the Development, Club, and Management Teams and staff, and appreciate when MAC members help to create a dynamic of teamwork and cooperation. We are grateful when MAC members speak highly of their memberships in order to reassure and positively influence others. We rely on the MAC’s supportive remarks in response to questions, confusion or doubts from other members to maintain and improve our reputation. Collectively, all teams – ResortCom, Club, PreArrival, Hotels, Marketing - have the members’ best interests in mind. We appreciate the MAC’s confidence in our unwavering commitment to our members and our promise to consistently meet and exceed expectations.
Member Liaison Online & On Property –
-
When on vacation, be as visible as you want. Whatever your comfort level and need for privacy dictates – you can wear your badge, mingle at the Member Party, introduce yourself round the pool – OR – just be a low key “secret shopper,” and note any unsolicited comments you hear. Please always refer members who are still on property to the Front Desk so the team can try to resolve their issues while they are still there.
-
When replying to a member online, please remember that we do not expect or want you to offer to solve any issues. That is not your role. We appreciate brief replies to clarify something a member may not understand. But rather than engaging them in an ongoing discussion, please direct them to the Club or Operations teams who are responsible for deciding what can and can’t be implemented.
-
Members should always be contacting the Club or ResortCom for help with any specific account questions or issues. With third-party forums that are not monitored continually, it may take a day or two, but we always hear if there is a question or problem that needs to be addressed. You can use the MAC Webform below to alert us to any online chatter you think needs intervention.
-
Terms – The Committee terms include the year in which MAC members are invited to join, and run for three years to end in December of the third year. Ex., Terms starting in 2024 will expire in December 2026.
Attendance–
-
Conference Calls- Currently, there are 2 conference calls during the year and 1 in person meeting. Calendar invitations are sent in the beginning of the year, and meeting packets are sent approximately two before each meeting. Failure to participate in 2 of 3 meetings each year may result in removal of the MAC to make room for someone who can contribute consistently.
-
Member Meeting(s) –
-
For Villa Group, the Annual Member Social is held in the fall, historically in Nuevo Vallarta. For Tafer, the Annual Member Meeting is held each spring and alternates between the Tafer resort properties in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Los Cabos Most MAC members attend in person; at the discretion of management there may or not be a call-in number provided for the in-person meetings.
-
MAC members do not receive comp rooms or airfare. They book vacation using points for the opportunity of participating in the face-to-face MAC meeting, Club Presentations, VIP and social events provided at no charge by the Club.
-
There are also brief annual Voting Meetings held in the Las Vegas office at the end of the year for both Villa Group and Tafer. These are business meetings during which the results of the Board Election are made official. Members are invited to attend; however, there are no dining or social events.

How We Show our Appreciation - VIP1 benefits
VIP Reservations Team – We have a small, designated VIP team that is available to book your reservations, answer account questions, purchase options, and provide other member services. They are a very small and personalized team that can provide more individual attention than the general Membership Agent group. We advise to work with your VIP1 team to secure reservations and optional, but then as you approach your reservation, switch gears and work directly with the PreArrival team, or if relevant, the Elite staff, as they will be helping you onsite. The phone number is (866) 827-0586 and the VIPMemberServices@resortcom.com. This designated team is available to you for the duration of your MAC term.
Status– For the duration of your term, your membership accounts are designated as “VIP1.” This means, regardless of your membership type, there are several additional benefits you receive. These may vary by destination and are subject to change.

VIP1 Landing Page – This page is provided to our MAC members, Board members, and other VIP1s to clarify the roles, responsibilities, and benefits of being more involved in your Club. Additionally, it is a handy tool in order to easily provide feedback in real time before, during or after vacation. Please utilize the Web Form below and your comments will be flagged immediately, assigned a ticket number, and catalogued for follow up.
Complimentary Transportation - MAC members attending the Annual Meeting are provided round trip (where applicable) complimentary shuttle transportation to the resort for two people.*In regions where Union regulations prohibit this, only pickups are complimentary.
VIP Events - During the Member Meeting, in addition to events for all members, UVCI provides refreshments during the MAC meeting, and hosts special VIP lunch and dinner events with the hotel executives, other Board members, and UVCI staff. As a MAC member you are guaranteed a registration spot at the Member Meeting/Social. VIP schedules are distributed prior to the meeting.*Please note Eagle’s Wings events may be held separately; as fundraisers, they are not included in the complimentary registration. MAC members are encouraged, but not required, to support Eagle’s Wings Foundation.
Expenses - There is no reimbursement or compensation for travel costs, rooms, or other expenses. However, MAC members find that participation on the committee is very rewarding as it allows them to connect to others with similar interests, strengthen the membership community, develop relationships with each other, and get to know resort and Club executives and management.
Important Considerations:
Benefits for Elite MAC members - Some MAC members are also Elite members of varying levels, who may already be used to receiving a higher level attention from the Elite reservation team. Depending on your Elite tier, many of your Elite benefits will often “trump” your VIP benefits. In these instances, MAC members do not receive “double” benefits, or Elite benefits from a higher Elite tier. However, be assured that MAC members will always receive the highest level of benefits and amenities to you relevant to your status as MAC/VIP1 or Elite, as applicable.
Please note: Reservations that are made through exchange companies or other rental programs are not eligible for VIP1 or Elite benefits. However, at their discretion, the Hotel Operations team may allow non-cost benefits. Please note you must always be in good standing to book any reservations.
Difference between the MAC and the Board–
The MAC is not a board, it is an advisory committee, and we ask that you please refrain from referring to the MAC as the “member board.”Your Board of Directors has fiduciary responsibility and a higher level of decision making authority. MAC Members should not officially speak for the Developer or the Club, but instead offer to relay messages or provide contact information.
The MAC is a vehicle through which the Board, Club and Resort Management, and the Developer solicits ideas and recommendations. All members (and hotel guests) receive surveys and have the opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas and suggestions. We value feedback from all our members; the MAC merely affords a more streamlined and efficient method of obtaining it.
Transferability: Benefits of VIP1 are only transferrable to spouse/guest if MAC Member is present.
Prioritization of Ideas - Although every suggestion is welcomed, there is no guarantee or promise to fulfill each one. With members having competing preferences, we will never be able to make everyone happy, all the time. Ideas must be considered carefully for the amount of time and resources they will use, and balanced against efficiency and customer satisfaction. In general, the Club, Management, and the Developer will prioritize the implementation of ideas that save costs, improve membership value, or benefit the majority of members rather than a smaller group. That said, ensuring consistent fulfillment of Elite Program benefits is another high priority.
Governance – The MAC meetings are presided over, managed, and run by UVCI, your Club Manager. However, all the members sit on the Committee at the ultimate discretion of each respective Developer. All rules, terms, responsibilities and benefits of the Member Advisory Committee are subject to change.
